VISION 2020 40 DAY PRAYER FOCUS

On March 23, we will begin a 40 Day Prayer Focus in preparation for Vision 2020. Vision 2020 involves a refreshing of the facilities we use every day in our ministries—yes—but during this season our continued focus is drawing closer to Jesus. Starting March 23, we will be handing our foldable “Prayer Tent” prayer guides as a visual reminder to study key Scriptures each week. Every week we will be focusing on a different Hebrew name of God, and we will be reading and meditating over verses that talk about those aspects of our amazing Creator. An online guide will be right here to help guide you as you study and pray.

If you would like to receive a daily verse PLUS a daily devotional video from one of our members starting March 23, text 2020pray to 30500.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and nor be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

WEEK 1

Ask God to prepare your heart as He speaks to you—He created you and He knows you. He desires a deeper walk with you.

SCRIPTURES

Day 1- Revelation 4:11

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

Day 2- Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Day 3- Mark 12:29-31

Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Day 4- Isaiah 40:28

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.

Day 5- Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Day 6- 1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Day 7- Jeremiah 32:27

Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.

WEEK 2

Ask God to give you an understanding of who He is. There is none like Him—for He is Holy!

SCRIPTURES

Day 1- Matthew 1:23

Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

Day 2- John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Day 3- Hebrews 4:15

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Day 4- Isaiah 6:3

And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”

Day 5- Hebrews 12:28-29

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Day 6- Revelation 4:8

And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”

Day 7- Revelation 17:14

They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.

WEEK 3

Ask God to give you faith in His ability to answer your prayers.
Ask Him for faith to trust His answers.

SCRIPTURES

Day 1- Genesis 22:8, 13-14

Abraham said, “God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they went both of them together. And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called the name of that place, “The LORD will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”

Day 2- Isaiah 55:8-9

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Day 3- Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

 Day 4- Philippians 4:19

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Day 5- 1 Timothy 6:17

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

 Day 6- 1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Day 7-Jeremiah 32:27

Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?

WEEK 4

Ask God to give you peace as you discern His voice and trust in Him.

SCRIPTURES

Day 1- Judges 6:24

Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD and called it, The LORD Is Peace. To this day it still stands at Ophrah, which belongs to the Abiezrites.

Day 2- Philippians 4:4-8

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Day 3- John 16:33

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Day 4-John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Day 5- Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Day 6- Isaiah 26:3-4

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.

Day 7- Philippians 9-11

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

WEEK 5

Ask God to help you listen and obey His voice. He is the Good Shepherd who will direct your path.

SCRIPTURES

 Day 1- John 10:27

My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.

Day 2- John 10:14-15

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Day 3- Psalms 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Day 4- Isaiah 41:13

For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

Day 5- John 10:11

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

Day 6- Jeremiah 33:3

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

Day 7- 1 Kings 19:12

And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.

WEEK 6

Ask God to help you yield to His will, His way for your life.

SCRIPTURES

Day 1- John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Day 2- Revelation 22:13

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

Day 3- 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Day 4- Philippians 1:6

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Day 5- Philippians 2:5-11

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
