Family Fair & Picnic

Sunday, May 6th beginning at 12:15 pm at the FBS Ballfields. Join us for an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Each family should bring two larges dishes. There will be activities after the picnic which include; Moon Bounce; Kid’s Challenge; Wacky World; Dual Lane Slide; Jurassic Adventure; Highstriker; Spinner Ride; Kid Kopter Ride; Tijuana Twister Ride; Dragonfly Swings; Tubs of Fun Ride; Whirlybird Ride; Pony Rides & Petting Zoo; Sno-Cones; Helium Balloons; Face Painting and much more!. Camp Voyager 2018

Camp Voyager is June 2- 7th for Boys and Girls who have completed 4th grade through 6th grade Camp Voyager is held at an ACA accredited camp facility located in the beautiful mountains of Hendersonville, NC. The camp features cabins with bunk beds and bathrooms, a dining hall, three gyms, two lakes, a pool, tennis courts, ballfields, water slides, climbing tower and much more. All meals are all-you-can-eat.

Camper's Information

2018 CAMP VOYAGER – INFORMATION SHEET                                                    

All forms as well as final payments MUST be completed and returned to our office by Wednesday, MAY 16.

NEED TO BRING:

At least one pair of long pants (jeans)

Swim wear (one-piece bathing suit, at least 3 towels)

Shorts

Cool clothing (tee shirts, light colored clothing)

Shoes (one pair must be tennis shoes)

Sleeping gear (we suggest a sleeping bag or a sheet and blanket, pillow; it can get very cool!!)

Personal items (washcloths, soap, shampoo, toothbrush & paste, deodorant, toiletries)

Flashlight

Money for country store ($30.00 maximum – bills no larger than a five [$5], please!)

Any medications that the camper is currently taking (will be given to the camp nurse on Saturday to

distribute as prescribed or needed)

Rain jacket

Bible (with name inside) it would help to be NIV

Notepad & pen

2 large plastic bags for dirty or wet clothes

1 large bottle of baby shampoo to be used for a water event – this will be collected in the gym on Saturday before departure

MAY WISH TO BRING:

Insect repellant

Sunscreen lotion

Any equipment or instruments needed for skit / talent night

DO NOT BRING:

Cell phones, radios, televisions, electronic games, tape/CD players, MP3 players, gum, fireworks, tobacco of any kind, matches, knives, a bad attitude

Shaving cream is not allowed for campers

DATES AND TIMES:

*** Saturday, June 2nd

Campers need to arrive by 1:45 PM to load their luggage onto the buses in the back parking lot.  Then, all campers and family members will meet in the gymnasium for check-in and a brief meeting.  Buses will depart at 2:10 pm for camp.

 

We will return to First Baptist Church on Thursday, June 7th, at approx 2:15 pm.  You may call the office at

Please note that we do not offer a parent’s or family night at camp.

Men’s Summer Basketball League

Our Men’s Summer Basketball League will consist of 7 regular season games plus a single-elimination tournament. Most games will be played on Tuesday nights. Leagues are open to high school juniors and above. Registration deadline is Monday, May 17th and games begin Tuesday, May 29th.

COST: $45.00 / person

Adult Softball CO-ED

Our CO-ED softball league is open to all adults age 19 and above. You may sign-up as an individual or as a team. Because this is strictly a FELLOWSHIP LEAGUE, all men will bat opposite handed. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 30th and the season begins Monday, June 18th. Most games will be played on Monday nights.

COST: $25 / person

Crafty Connections

Our 2017-18 season of Crafty Connection has begun! The ladies meet in the Dining Hall on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. Child care is available but spaces are limited and registration is required. Come and enjoy a day of crafts, fellowship, snacks and a devotion time. For further details or to reserve child care,  Call the Recreation Office at 596-4108.
