FAQ's for Gathering at Barnet Park
Click on a question below to expand the answer. We hope to see you at the park!
What should I wear & bring?
Dress comfortably for a morning outside at the park. The staff and Dr. Don will be dressed casually. In case of morning dew in the grass, you might consider close-toed shoes with decent treads.
Bring anything you would need for sitting outside: Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, lawn chairs, blanket, water bottle, etc, and don’t forget your Bible! A hard copy might be easier to read in the sunlight.
Is seating provided?
There will not be seating provided, so make sure to bring a blanket or chair if you want one!
Family seating? Childcare?
We are asking for everyone to only sit with their household or family group at this time. There will not be childcare at this time, but the whole family is invited to sit together. These services are definitively family friendly!
Restrooms?
Barnet Park will have restrooms that are cleaned throughout the morning. Check our Parking Map above to see their location!
What about Masks?
Most of our staff and volunteers will be wearing masks as an extra measure of precaution for you, but it is not required for you to wear one. We will not be providing masks, but you are welcome to bring one from home.
What about rain?
In case of bad weather, the decision will be made at 7:00 AM to do the services Online and Broadcast Only. We hope you would join us at home in worship like in previous weeks.
Are pets allowed?
We love our pets, but for Church At The Park, they will need to stay home, just like a regular church Sunday.
Can I bring food?
At this time, we are asking everyone not to bring food. While a picnic lunch after service sounds great, there will be a lot of cleaning after 9:00 AM Celebration and a lot of equipment being moved and taken down after 11:00 AM Genesis. We want everyone to be able to exit the park without the worry of food items and trash while the staff and volunteers serve and work.
Interpreter for the deaf?
Yes, for the 9:00 AM Celebration service.
Cleaning Regulations?
The City of Spartanburg is doing a great job of disinfecting and cleaning all the facilities at Barnet Park. All cleaning regulations will be followed under recommendation of the CDC. Our First Baptist cleaning crews will also be cleaning the restrooms periodically throughout the morning. The park will be closed for cleaning between 10:10–10:30 AM.
Can I still worship at home?
Absolutely! The streams and broadcast on WSPA will continue as usual. Visit www.fbs.org to see the streams live while they are happening.
Are there Handicapped Parking options?
Yes; please check the map and description above!
