2 Samuel 7:18-29
Dr. Don Wilton
As Americans, we value, support, and defend our freedoms. Yet spiritual freedom provides even greater liberty. A spiritually free person thinks little of self and everything of God.
King David had great power and was free to do anything he pleased, but he valued his spiritual freedom above his ability to exercise personal freedoms. David cherished his relationship with God, heard God’s voice, and trusted God’s promises. He believed that no matter what circumstances he encountered, God provided hope and a future.
We live in unsettled, uncertain times, but like David, we can trust God’s promises. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we enjoy a personal relationship with God and can trust God’s faithfulness now, and in the future.
