PAST MESSAGES

A Christian Response to Fear
2 Timothy 1:5-7
Dr. Don Wilton
The world is a place where the name of Jesus is blasphemed, where God is ignored, and where Christians may be told to be careful, to be silent, and to avoid using the name of Jesus. When our faith is challenged and assaulted, Christians today often live in fear or timidity. Timothy, who traveled with the Apostle Paul in the New Testament days, likewise faced discouragement and fear. However, Timothy was given a mandate to preach the Word and to be a Christian witness, whatever his circumstances. And so are we!
As Dr. Wilton teaches us in this message, there is wonderful news. The counsel Timothy received applies also to the 21st century Christian. Whenever we draw strength from other Christians and use our God-given gifts, we are equipped to overcome that spirit of fear and timidity.
Join us today as Dr. Wilton applies Biblical truths and teaches believers how to respond to fear in a difficult and challenging world. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
