Prayer WORKS. We have a Heavenly Father who loves us and wants us to come to Him with all of our brokenness and hurts, and He is always faithful!
Please be in prayer for me and for my family. On Saturday Nov. 17 our mother breathed her last breath after a five year long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. My younger sister confirmed that she had recently received Christ as her Lord & Savior, so that is a comfort for sure. Back in February, we lost our father to diabetes & heart disease. Unfortunately, no one knows if he asked Christ into his heart except God Himself. Our father was a very angry, bitter man. All of us grew up in dysfunction with abuse, alcoholism, drug use and addiction as the norm. I, the oldest sibling, accepted Christ as my Savior at age 19...I am now 50; my brother who's three years younger, has a criminal record and it's unknown if he's accepted Christ; my younger sister who's twelve years my junior, accepted Christ as her Savior at age 9, but has not been living for the Lord. My heartfelt prayer is this...that God continues to use these losses & the tragedies in our lives to bring about that saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior to each one that's lost, as well as an end to the dysfunction and abuse cycle, and a reconciliation & strengthening of our family. I'm not actually a member of First Spartanburg, but consider y'all my church family. I am disabled and not able to travel to actually be there, but am faithful in watching online each week and am faithful in my tithe. Our mother watched faithfully also and considered Dr. Wilton her pastor & teacher. I'm so thankful that she & I shared that together. My prayer also is for God to use me as He sees fit, and to speak through me. Pray also please for my daughter...she is far, far from God right now. She knows Jesus as her Savior, but has not walked with Him for a long time. I call her my prodigal...she has not spoken to me and has not allowed me to have a relationship with my grandsons for over three years...my heart is broken and a piece is missing. Praying for her to come back to God first & foremost, and for she & I to be reconciled also. I'm so thankful for prayers and for the ministries of First Spartanburg...the daily encouraging word devotions and weekly services are such a blessing! Thanks so much for prayers also! I'm sorry for writing a book...my heart is heavy & my thoughts are many. Thanks again!
