Pray

Locally

Pray for First Baptist Spartanburg and it’s ministries, including The Bridge at Green Street and Refuge. Pray for local ministries like Miracle Hill, Spartanburg Opportunity Center, SWITCH, Carolina Pregnancy Center, TOTAL Ministries, etc. Pray for the City of Spartanburg and it’s leaders. Pray for God’s Kingdom to come in

Nationally

Pray for our country and government officials. Pray for Church Planters in Pittsburgh, PA and for refugee work in Clarkston, GA. Pray for the Lost in America. Pray for the North American Mission Board.

Globally

Pray for the international workers sent out from our church. Pray for Bible Translation in South Africa. Pray for the Lost and unreached or unengaged people groups. Pray for Christians in persecuted countries. Pray for God’s Kingdom to Come on Earth as it is in Heaven.

The Bridge at Green Street

The Bridge at Green Street is a ministry center of First Baptist Spartanburg. Evangelize and serve families in our community Monday -Thursday. Serve with children or youth, help restore bikes, sort clothes, or use your construction skills to serve on the maintenance team. Whatever your gifting, here is a place for you to serve!

Refuge

(First Baptist Spartanburg, Spartanburg, SC)

Refuge is a ministry of First Baptist Spartanburg to people experiencing homelessness. Cook or serve breakfast and take time to meet them.
Hosted on Sunday Morning 8 AM-10 AM

Switch

(Upstate, SC)

SWITCH is an organization fighting sex trafficking and sexual exploitation in the Upstate. SWITCH hosts counseling sessions at the Bridge with participants and works with us to educate the community about sex trafficking and supporting survivors.

Gen Send

(USA)

Gen Send is designed for students to give their summer to serve on mission alongside church planters and compassion ministries.

BCM GO

(USA)

Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) GO provides college students the opportunity to give their summer to fulfill the Great Commission by sending them to serve in our state, in North America, and around the world.

Nehemiah Teams

(Globally)

Nehemiah Teams is a summer mission opportunity for students called to serve in cross-cultural missions among unreached people groups. As a program of the International Mission Board, Nehemiah Teams partner with IMB personnel to reach unreached people groups around the world.

Ages 17-29, 8 weeks

IMB Fusion

(Globally)

This gap year program gives high school graduates the opportunity to give a year to serve in cross-cultural missions and reach unreached people groups around the world.

Ages 18-25, 1 year

IMB Journeyman

(Globally)

The Journeyman program gives recent college graduates the opportunity to serve 2 years as a full time missionary. Journeyman can serve Nationally through Send Relief Ministry Centers with poverty alleviation, sex trafficking, crisis response, and foster care. Journeyman can serve internationally with church planting and evangelism with unreached people groups.

2 years, Bachelors degree required, single or married, no children

Career Missionary

While God calls all believers to proclaim the Gospel, some are specifically called to serve overseas as a full-time Career Missionary.

Welcome

The nations are coming to us! Thousands of Refugees are being resettled in America every year, it is our responsibility to welcome them to their new home in. Join our Welcome Team to support refugees moving into Spartanburg.

Welcome Team

(Spartanburg, SC)

Navigating grocery stores, schools, housing applications, and directions, can all be a challenge for a recently resettled Refugee with language and culture barriers. Serve on the Welcome Team and be paired with a Refugee family to support them as they get acclimated to your hometown. Join a team of people passionate about welcoming refugees to the Upstate.
