First Baptist Spartanburg exists to encourage complete and courageous living in Christ. Encouraging TodayImpacting Tomorrow will equip and enable us to fulfill that mission better than ever before.

As each member of our church family deepens his or her personal faith in Jesus, he or she will feel compelled to share that faith with others in our community and beyond. To accomplish that purpose, we have a mission strategy that can be summed up in just four words – worship, prepare, serve, and engage.

Worship – an opportunity to praise God and experience fellowship and unity with others
Prepare – strengthening our relationship and devotion to serve Him through the study of God’s Word
Serve – outward expression of our love of God that reaches out to serve others
Engage – living out the message of God’s love that  touches the lives of those you don’t even know and leads them to start the same process

Those involved in complete and courageous living in Christ are participating in some aspect of each of the strategic phases of ministry. A complete and courageous life is a balanced life. Our mission is to equip individuals in our church family to use their God-given abilities to serve others and engage in the world in a way that has an impact on eternity.
