The timing for Spartanburg 1st could
not be more perfect. First Baptist Spartanburg has the opportunity to
respond to our community’s’needs during a time of great economic uncertainty. Through our peoples’’giving hearts and self less service, ultimately FBS will receive the greatest blessing. - Michael Cohen
FBS has prayerfully made the decision to give a tithe, one tenth, of the money given to our new capital campaign to missions efforts in our home community. In Spartanburg there are so many needs and we want to help meet those needs. So for every dollar that is raised, we will put ten cents into local missions. We want to give to others even before we give to ourselves.
This will not affect our current donations to local ministries. The Spartanburg 1st program will be able to meet special needs for ministries as determined by our Global M-Pact Team.
Not only will we provide financial support but our members will also be encouraged to give of their time to help the local ministries we support. This will connect our church more intimately with the community as we engage our people in service. We want to live out the Great Commission right in our own backyard.
• There are 210% more working families seeking assistance from our Helping Center today than one year ago.
• Through the Great Commission Offering, FBS gave 41.5% more to missions last year than the previous year.
• The local ministries we partner with touch an additional 100,000 people every year.
