How will funds be raised?
Funds will be given by our members during the capital stewardship campaign May 3, 2009 through May 3, 2012. Future members will be given an opportunity to make a faith promise as well.
How will the commitment be made?
Faith promises can be made to give weekly, monthly, or annually over a three-year period. Faith promise cards will be turned in at our Celebration Event at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium on May 3, 2009.
Can commitments be changed, if necessary?
Absolutely. Faith promises may be increased or decreased at any time as the Lord leads.
If all the money needed for the improvements is not raised, what happens to the projects?
We are committed to making the necessary sacrifices to update our facilities in order to serve God with excellence within our church family and community. We are trusting Him for the completion of these “seven stones.”
What will happen if pledges exceed the cost of the project?
All excess funds will be held in a special account. The Finance Team will make recommendations to the deacons as to what additional upgrades should be made.
The sanctuary has already been renovated and media upgrades begun and we haven’t even accepted pledges yet. How can this be?
The sanctuary renovations were possible because of a special bequest from the estate of a very generous church member. It was done in the summer because that was the best time for us to worship in another part of the building. Serving as a catalyst for our campaign, the beautification of our sanctuary is a visual reminder of our commitment to excellence for the Kingdom.
The media upgrades were necessary to continue broadcasting in accordance with the national change from analog to high-definition, digital broadcasting. These changes were very timely in our ongoing relationship with WSPA.
What is 1•1•1?
It represents two things-
1. A reminder at 1 p.m. everyday to pray for 1 minute about
1 of the campaign priorities!
2. A reminder of our key goal: We are asking God to help us become a church
where every member wants to invite anyone and everyone to come to First Baptist
Spartanburg to encounter the living Lord Jesus Christ. - Dr. Don Wilton
The place where EVERY 1 can invite ANY 1 to encounter THE 1.
