Bring the whole tithe into the
storehouse... Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the
f loodgates of heaven and pour out
so much blessing that you will not have room enough
for it. - Malachi 3:10
- Prayerfully consider what your
gift to Encouraging Today Impacting Tomorrow should be.
- You might consider cash,
income from savings, tax refunds, bonuses or dividends. Checks may be made payable to
First Baptist – Encouraging Today Impacting Tomorrow.
- You can give real estate,
stocks, bonds, coins, gold, jewelry, boats, cars, etc. Appreciated securities
and real estate may generally be deducted at full market value without any tax
on the gain.
- Life
insurance policies may name First Baptist as the owner and beneficiary of an
existing or new policy. The donor receives an immediate tax deduction
approximately equal to the policy’s cash surrender value on an existing
policy or the premium paid on a new policy. All future premium payments made by
the donor are deductible.
- Testamentary Trusts are
established in your will. FBS may be named as the residuary beneficiary, the
recipient of a specified gift or contingent bequest, or the ultimate recipient
of the assets of a charitable remainder trust.
- Charitable
Remainder Trusts are used by a donor who wishes to make a contribution to FBS
but needs income for
current expenses. The donor can leave property to the church at death or give
the assets now subject to a retained
income interest. This is a great option for retaining benefits of your assets
while advancing God’s kingdom.
- Charitable Lead Trusts name
FBS as the initial beneficiary, with the church’s interest
terminating at a time specified by the donor. The trust then continues for the benefit
of or terminates in favor of children, grandchildren, relatives, or
others. Usually this plan affords a significant estate tax benefit.
- 36 Month Contribution - Each
of us can give far more than we think by giving it over a three-year
period.
