The journey to becoming the Minister to College and Young Adults has been an exciting one for the Bowers family! We are thrilled about the opportunity to serve such a vibrant group of people within FBS.  
While most people know what a college student or a young adult is, here are a few specifics of this new ministry.

• The target age group is around 18 – 30 years
of age. College students is self-explanatory; young adults includes those in the workforce, post-grad individuals, and also young singles and marrieds.
• Merge is the new name of the College and Young Adult ministries at FBS. The concept behind this identification is three-fold:
1. We are merging the generation. There is a vital need for the college and young adult generation to become active disciples at FBS and across the Upstate.
2. We are merging this age group into the teachings and plans God has outlined for each one of our lives. No longer do we seek our own roads, but we merge into the plans He has outlined for us.
3. We don’t want to “draw lines” all over the ministry in terms of who things are for, who can come, etc. Establishing a Merge ministry allows for an inclusive banner of ministry where all college students and young adults can be involved.

• LifeGroups will take on a whole new look in the fall. We are actively starting LifeGroups that will meet throughout the week, on various nights, all across Spartanburg. While many will meet on Sunday mornings and nights we have many people that have expressed a desire to gather another night of the week. We are currently recruiting LG’s (LifeGroup Guides) to guide these groups through Bible study, accountability, prayer, and fellowship. • Merge Worship is every Sunday night at 7:47 p.m. It is a unique worship service for College and Young Adults. This focused meeting will reach out to friends at work, classmates, and those not engaged in the local church. Great worship will be led by Jarod Espy, a relevant message brought by Brandon Bowers, and then an opportunity afterwards to have desserts, play volleyball, etc.
