Heart to Heart Mentoring

"For I long to see you, that I may impart some spiritual gift, so that you may be established-

That is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me."

Romans 1:11-12

Heart to Heart is on hold for the time being due to our Pastor calling our people to a church wide focus on prayer. We will announce Heart to Heart again when the Lord leads in that direction. Thank you!

What is Heart to Heart?

The Bible instructs older Christian women to train younger women:

"Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be dishonored."  Titus 2:3-5

This training does not take place in a classroom, but through personal relationships. Heart to Heart is a program designed to develop supportive friendships between older hearts and younger hearts. It is a ministry of encouragement, counsel, guidance, and spiritual growth. As mature, godly women share their life experiences with a younger friend, both grow personally. The beautiful part is that they learn from each other! The focus is to encourage a dependence on God and an application of Scripture to everyday living. The goal is to make this new friendship a source of caring growth and strength for both partners.

Why Heart to Heart?

Many women do not have their mothers or grandmothers close by who could provide godly training. Christian women need each other as friends, role models, and to grow in Christ.

The Lord commands us to tell the next generation: Psalm 145:4; 48:13; 71:18; and 79:4. Teaching what we have learned is God's plan for growth and maturity: Titus 2:2-5. Spiritual friendships are extremely valuable in a woman's life: Proverbs 27:9 and 17.

What Does an Older Heart Do?

An older heart is a wise woman who is mature in faith and consistent in godly conduct. As women, we are asked to share our hearts, lives, struggles, talents, and gifts with each other in order to bring Him glory and further His Kingdom. We are called as women to be part of this incredible opportunity of discipleship.

What Does a Younger Heart Do?

A younger heart is a woman who welcomes the advice and counsel of a more mature woman. She wants to develop certain skills and strengths for not only her personal journey, but also for her spiritual journey. She is looking to learn from a woman who has dealt with the struggles she now faces and experience the mutual joy of this journey.
